For almost a year I have been working with a startup without being paid in hopes they would soon be profitable. Recently I met with my financial advisor and she told me due to all of the rising costs I need to supplement my retirement income if I don’t want to run out of money in the future. So I am going to talk with the startup to see if they can at least afford to pay me a 1099 to help me out. In the meantime I will be reaching out to old clients to see what consulting work they also may have available. It’s time to move forward.
